James Stehli

Jim Stehli is Head of the CLO Group at Mizuho Securities USA. Jim is also Head of Securitized Products Trading overseeing MBS, RMBS, ACMBS, ABS and CLO trading.

Mr. Stehli joined Mizuho in 2014 after more than three years as a Partner & Managing Director at CRT Capital, where he oversaw the firm’s CDO/CLO trading. From 2009 to 2010, Jim was a Founding & Managing Partner at Sirona Advisors. Prior to that, he served as Global Head of the CDO/CLO business at UBS from 2005 through 2007, after having run the bank’s ABS CDO group since 2001.

Jim has also held roles as a member of the UBS Investment Bank Board and as Vice Chairman of the Bond Market Association’s CDO Committee. His team of 50+ was located in Stamford, New York, London and Singapore and focused on origination, securitization, syndication, and trading.

Jim started his career with MGT Capital and JP Morgan Securities from 1988-1992. He then worked with Kidder Peabody before joining
PaineWebber in 1995, which was eventually purchased by UBS in 2000.

Mr. Stehli holds a BS in Finance from Binghamton University School of Management with a Minor in East Asian Studies & Japanese. A former Rotary International Exchange student, he lived and worked in Tokyo and Singapore from 1991 through 1998 and is conversational in Japanese.
