Rusty Fleming is a partner at Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm with more than 800 attorneys, policy advisors, and professionals across 25 offices serving clients in more than 100 practice areas. As a member of the Real Estate Capital Markets team, Mr. Fleming represents traditional and non-traditional lenders in a variety of transactions, including syndicated and single-lender corporate and ABL credit facilities, CMBS loans, bridge loans, life insurance company balance sheet loans, and mezzanine loans. He has also assisted a number of clients with designing, establishing, and launching new loan programs, including small balance, table funding and non-recourse balance sheet programs. Additionally, Mr. Fleming handles the servicing, syndication and disposition of existing loans and credit facilities.
Mr. Fleming has been actively involved in real estate finance for over 15 years and speaks at a variety of events around the country each year discussing the latest industry trends and sharing his journey as an entrepreneur. As a member of the CRE Finance Council Education Committee, Mr. Fleming routinely hosts after-work seminars and mentoring events. He is also an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and NACS and is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
Mr. Fleming is a graduate of Samford University and Cumberland School of Law where he received joint MBA and JD degrees. While in law school, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cumberland Law Review,
a member of the Henry Upson Moot Court Board, and an Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Fleming served as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable James D. Todd, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.
